Product Packs

Product packs represent an evolution in the way that we're providing you, the customer, with your updates. In the past, we have provided free updates to the products and technologies you love, and we plan to keep doing so. However, while we were on this grand adventure with you all, we discovered that product versions don't actually mean all that much when it comes to the product itself. This led to the concept of Product Packs, that allow us to keep providing free updates to our most loyal customers, as well as allow us to rapidly update all the products we offer. As you may have noticed over the years, several of our products have overlapping features, which can often make the interface cluttered and a bit redundant, obfuscating the technology you're actually wanting to use on your image. With the product pack model, your products now have the ability to share those common features!

But I don't like this approach!

While we are moving products into this list, which will add new Adjustment types, new presets, and new content to the products you know and love, we will maintain a list of previous version installers, that you can use while you're getting adjusted to Topaz Studio. Keep in mind, these previous versions, once moved into Studio, will no longer receive updates in the old way; everything will be updated through the Topaz Studio application.

What is the difference between free and Pro?

We have found that as we developed new technologies, that our previous plugin model did not allow us to easily distribute those developments to our customers. Each time we had something we wanted our customers to try, we had to develop a new product, most of the time from scratch. This resulted in a longer turnaround time from technology to application than we felt was fair to anyone that supported us by investing in Topaz Labs tools. Topaz Studio will allow you to use all the technologies we have developed, for free, but with some limitations. By using Effects, generated by other users or provided by Topaz Labs, you can leverage 100% of the technology we have included in Topaz Studio.

If you would like full control of a particular Adjustment, then you'll need the Pro version. The Pro version of any given Adjustment will provide full control to that Adjustment's sliders, buttons, and other controls.

If we can use Topaz Studio "free", then why do we have to purchase Pro?

The short answer to this is very simple: You don't have to.

...but really, do I have to buy Pro to enjoy Topaz Studio?

No!

However, if you did decide to support us by purchasing Pro for any or all Adjustments, we would really appreciate it!

Free Adjustments

All users can enjoy the technology we make, but if you want advanced, fine-tune control over the Adjustments we provide, you'll need to purchase Pro for those Adjustments. You'll see this when you add an Adjustment to your stack:

Adjustment Presets

Take note of the Presets menu at the top of the slider panel. We allow you limited control, even when an Adjustment is added that you have not purchased Pro for, or you find an Adjustment is included in a pre-built Effect.

Pro Adjustments

If you want to take full control of all the power Topaz Studio provides, you'll want to Go Pro. When you purchase Pro for any Adjustment, you will be shown more sliders, controls, and other features that were not available to you before. You will also see a blue box border around the Adjustment icon:

I definitely want to try these Adjustments before I buy...

We hear you! Well, not literally, but we know what you want. We have done away with our old trial system, and introduced a new way to try Pro Adjustments in Topaz Studio. Just select the Try Pro label inside the Adjustment:

You will have 30 days to try the Adjustment, from the moment you select Try Pro. If you decide to purchase Pro at any time for a given Adjustment, you can do so by clicking the Go Pro label adjacent to your trial timer.

Ok, so how do I buy these Adjustments, so I don't have to deal with these limitations?

Oh, but of course! We have gone through great lengths to improve the customer experience when dealing with Topaz Labs technologies. For existing customers, there are a number of changes you'll need to get used to, but all newcomers will find that our purchase experience borrows some of the best bits from products and services they already know and love. If you'd like to head to the store now and start shopping, select the "Topaz Studio Shop" button below.
